PSU Tangerang

The challenge

When a developer builds a housing estate in Indonesia, its public infrastructure, facilities and utilities — roads, drainage, parks and other public land, known as PSU (prasarana, sarana dan utilitas) — must eventually be handed over to the local government.

Knowing what exists where, which parcels have already been handed over and which documents cover them usually means digging through site plans, drawings and spreadsheets. PSU Tangerang needed one place where every estate could be seen, checked and documented on a map.

Our solution

We built a web GIS around the estates of Kota Tangerang:

• Multi-layer maps per estate — boundaries, roads, drainage, plots and PSU land, each with its own colour, toggle and zoom-to button.
• Parcel details on click: planned and actual use, area and handover status, read straight from the spatial data.
• Documents attached to the map — signed-in staff download and upload the documents for each PSU parcel; visitors can view the map but not the files.
• Location filters by province, regency or city and district, plus search by estate name.
• OpenStreetMap, satellite and terrain base maps, so the same data can be read as a street plan or checked against the ground.
• Data-driven, not hard-coded: adding an estate means adding its GeoJSON layers — the sidebar, filters and map pick it up automatically.
• Works on a phone: the panel folds into a menu and leaves the whole screen to the map.

The outcome

PSU Tangerang now shows 19 housing estates and more than 4,400 mapped features in a single map. Instead of searching archives, staff open the estate, click a parcel and see its status and paperwork in seconds.
